Thanks to our team for volunteering at the Calgary Food Drive 2021, to help fight hunger last weekend! On Saturday, 10th July, Calgary GM Brenda Bressler and her team (Ben Thorgeirson and Jori Enberg) volunteered to Fill-A-Truck at the Food Drive 2021 outside Save-On Foods at 3915 51st Street SW, Calgary. Together, they collected 480 lbs of food (the equivalent of 400 meals!) plus a cheque for $100, from generous donors. I think we can all agree that they earned their Hunger Fighting Hero Award. We’d also like to give a shout out to the Manager and Staff at Save-On Foods, Brianne Breugom and the Food Bank rep Avaleen Streeton, who came out and helped set up the site with us.
The donations were delivered to Calgary Food Bank, so that our efforts can directly support our community. This was all arranged in partnership with Move for Hunger, an outstanding non-profit, working to end hunger. To date, Move for Hunger has collected and delivered 23,387,864 lbs of food in the US and Canada.
The fight against hunger continues! Please consider donating to your local food bank or running your own food drive, to help support your local community during trying times. And remember, if you’re planning a move with Tippet-Richardson, we can help get your unwanted or surplus foods donated to the food bank, as part of our work with Move for Hunger!
